Small Wins that Count

🌟 Small Wins That Count
🌟 Small Wins That Count

Because thriving isn’t loud—it’s steady, gentle, and real.

✅ Got out of bed

✅ Brushed my teeth

✅ Drank a glass of water

✅ Put on fresh clothes (even if it’s just clean PJs)

✅ Took my medication

✅ Made or ate something nourishing (yes, a granola bar counts)

✅ Rested when my body asked me to

✅ Answered one message or email

✅ Opened a window or stepped outside

✅ Journaled a single sentence

✅ Gave myself grace

✅ Said “no” when I needed to

✅ Celebrated one good thing, no matter how small

✅ Let myself cry

✅ Let myself laugh

✅ Reached out to someone I trust

✅ Did something kind for my body

✅ Did something kind for my mind

✅ Let myself be exactly as I am today

✅ Remembered: I don’t have to do it all to be doing enough

Got Out of Bed and Brushed My Teeth? We’re Basically Thriving.

Some mornings, thriving doesn’t look like a well-balanced breakfast, a completed to-do list, or a sunrise yoga session.Sometimes, thriving looks like brushing your teeth.

Getting out of bed? That’s the real red-carpet moment.

I made it. You made it. And no, it doesn’t matter if your hair’s still wild or you’re wearing the same cozy leggings for the third day in a row. If you moved from your bed to the bathroom and took care of the basics, you’ve already done something powerful.

Because here’s the truth most people won’t say out loud:The small stuff isn’t small when your body feels like it’s working against you.

Chronic illness has a way of distorting what "success" looks like. We’re bombarded with messages that tell us productivity equals worth. That unless we’re checking boxes and achieving milestones, we’re falling behind. But when you live with invisible illness, just staying upright can take the strength of a hundred battles.

So brushing your teeth? Getting dressed? Feeding yourself? That’s not “just” something. That’s everything.

The Courage to Celebrate

We don’t give ourselves enough credit for the daily courage it takes to do the basics. And we certainly don’t celebrate it enough.

But today, I’m choosing to notice the little things. To honor the effort it took just to be here. And I hope you’ll join me. Not in toxic positivity. Not in pretending it’s easy. But in telling the truth:

You showed up. You did something kind for your body. And that counts.

Every small step toward caring for yourself is an act of rebellion in a world that tells us to push harder, go faster, be more.

Redefining Thriving

Let’s stop measuring thriving by someone else’s standard. Let’s redefine it for ourselves.

Some days, thriving is a to-do list with ten checkmarks. Other days, it’s brushing your teeth and taking a deep breath by the window. And both are worthy.

We’re not here to impress anyone. We’re here to live, even if it’s quiet, even if it’s slow. We’re here to notice beauty in the basics.

And today, we’re basically thriving.
